Speedict Ebike - Anybody seen/tried this?

Yeh that would be excellent, speedict acts like a hub.
CAN would end up pricey IMO, being kinda of an industry type bus.
Something like a blue tooth zigby would be brilliant.
The different devices talk to the speedict central hub and the phone obviously interface.
+1 on the safety, still need somethings hard wired to meet safety requirements.

When i mentioned the USB i was hoping cellogs might be able to communicate to speedict via an interface to the speedict USB
But Yeh if that interface is via bluetooth good too, only mentioned that because they would be generally next to speedict on a bike anyway.

just post reply to crossbreak ... keep discuss on it :D

The main features I would like to add are phase current meter

the i/o port on speedict ebike are just interrupt and dac ports, if you have small circuit e.g. phase current -> shunt resistor -> translate to small voltage signal and connect to either port 2 or 4 and use function mode - multi-sense, its value will be displayed on android as temperature 1 and 2, all we need to do is change the title from temperature to phase current :D

second rpm meter for the motor ( to estimate the chosen gear),

please let me know why you need this data ?

and a "info bar" which stays on top in my android phone if i use the navi software

android doesn't allow 2 application displayed on same screen

connectivity to pedal torque estimator (like the ones thun sells for example).

speedict ebike port provide 5v, if torque estimator can powered by 5v, it is ok !

there is so much which should be connected to the speedict, if one sets it into the center of the e-bike control. there are many computers on a bike which should be connected. The BMS is only one of these chips. the phase current computer is a second... and so on.
we need standard protocol on all e-bike accessories e.g. we don't know how to communicate with BMS ...

crossbreak said:
It would be nice to see all this connected by a single standard like CAN. It has to be wire because of safety issues. The monitor interface can be bluetooth, cause it doesn't affect safety.

yes

crossbreak said:
I don't know what the mentioned usb interface would be good for :?: all the stuff we do with the speedict is non real time, so why should we do not use bluetooth? it does all we want, doesn't it?

?

the 6km/h, 25km/h button is also one thing that makes me think more about buying this. thx for dealing with this!
do you want a quick switch to enable / disable speed limit or governor quick ?

Just a quick question : is the governor suppose to work right when enabled or it needs the throttle cables or something ?
In other words, how do we make it work ?

yes, it need throttle cable to work with, the throttle cable (output) is actually override your throttle signal send to speed controller.

Danny, thanks for the repay at my email.
I like you service verry much. Befor i can try if it work i have to order a new throttle cable.

My red cabel was not conntected to the controller only to the speedict. Now it is gone i think i lost it when change battery at the road.

I order a new one and share the result.

Thanks again i stil like the speedict much cant wait for you controller when finished.

just refund back to your paypal, you don't need to order "again" will send you a replacement as warranty covered :D

I noticed that it doesn't measure any current below 30W. Is it normal?

And also, I tried to mount a Cycle analyst and the speedict in series, and for the same battery my cycle analyst measure 66.9V and the speedict 66.32V. There is 0.5V difference. Which one is right?

Thanks Danny :)

e.g. If you battery is 70v and 30w mean current ~0.4A, sometime it may not display correctly ...
How about when you measure fully charged battery pack ? You may need to re-calibrate your speedict ebike with our calibration software.

Thanks Danny. So anything below 0.5A isn't displayed correctly I suppose?

I'm trying to calibrate the voltage but I have different value for each device.

I just plugged everything into a 12V pc power supply and I have:
- 12.19V on the speedict
- 12.13V on the multi-meter
- 12.24V on my turnigy wattmeter

Which one provides the right value? Or do you know where can I find a reliable source for calibration?

Thanks

not to say witch the right value represents.

each measuring instrument has a certain deviation.

Lets say the the deviation is 0.5% wich normal for cheap devices

Then the allowable deviation is + and - 0,06V

and you power supply output is 12,19V all 3 device display a value within specifications.

Sorry for bad english

you are right we don't know either, we use digital voltage source for calibration, but you can re-calibrate with e.g. 3s lipo because 3s lipo used to provide 12.58 - 12.65v range when fully charge, but i do suggest you do

1. 3s pack fully charged pack as low calibrate point
2. 6s pack fully charged pack as high calibration point

you can also calibrate sub-0.5A again but little bit complicate for current re-calibration, please wait for my solution i will consult our team for any better solution ...

i recieved the money back :)

Thanx Danny

Let you know if it work when recieved the cabel

Hi Danny i think i will wait to see how this new product looks, before i order.
I like your product, but if you were able to plug into controller [ for hubmotor ] and use the hall signal for speed sensing, this would eliminate the speed cable + magnet, cycle annalist uses this technique.
Would be a cleaner installation :)

no, this is not for hub motor, it is for bosch type approach.

i think you can use hall signal instead of speed sensor, all you need to do is hand make this cable, i need to confirm it as i remember i was told by customer he did that :D

Thanks Danny.

I think for now I'm going to keep the speedict value as I think my lipo charger is probably no better calibrated anyway. It seems close enough to my other multimeter so should be fine. I think the Cycle analyst needs to be calibrated as it is more different to all other measures.

Congratulation for your new product MERCURY. I've seen it's limited to 70V?? Damn, you're going to miss a lot of customers in endlessspehre. Why not increase the max voltage? The Cycle analyst has a good limit of 150V and that's nice.

hi cwah,

don't mix up, this is (mercury) for bosch system, not for DIY market :D

Erikjan said:
do you talk about this http://www.bosch-ebike.de/en/service/service_1.html ?

yes this system, because some customers want to test their motor top speed e.g. 40km, so we over-ride its speed sensor signal, and let them test their motor full speed, but not for over speed because legal speed is 25km, we don't recommended

Thanks Danny.

Is it this one the so "speedict controller" that we were all waiting for... or is there another one coming out? Please don't forget the high voltage guys!

no, this is not speed controller, it is a device for bosch system, let them to test or change the bosch system top speed e.g. 25km to 40km ... for bosch system therefore 70v is good enough :D

Sorry Danny i meant the new version of the original speedict,i believe you said would come out in December any more news on that release ?
And on using the hall signal from the controler for speed, instead of the wheel wire /spoke magnet, it was more of a request for official support/ development, im sure it would be popular with users as it is with the Cycle Analist.
