I just passed 2,500 miles.

I'm right at 2,000 miles on my X5 after almost a year of riding it. Haven't exactly helped the world save itself, but I've sure had fun! :D

Slowly?

That's more mileage than I put on my car this summer. 2000 miles in three months is pretty fast... (I had 500 from the end of last year) Average speed was about 23 mph... (so that's about 100 hours on the bike)

I go about twice as fast as you guys, so the miles rack up faster...

Upon returning from my Sunday afternoon ride this week the odometer portion of my computer, which was installed a week after I put the Crystalyte Cruiser on my bike, I noticed it was at 1000.6 miles. It's at 1011 today and would be more but we've had 5' of rain since yesterday.

After about a week and the first 100 miles or so the entire experience has been only gotten better. The biggest single improvement has been the wire saddlebags which keep the SLA's secure and don't allow for any weight shifting or further tearing of the Topeak saddlebags.

Next it would be a tie between the Sony radio and the Walmart squeeze horn. The radio is great at under 15 - 16 MPH and useless after that, wind noise negates the radio unless there is a good tailwind. The horn on the other hand is great as a means of not only warning but as a hailer.

Hopefully the LiFEPO4 batteries will be here in the next couple of weeks and the safe range will be dramatically increased.

The biggest, if you could call it that, negative is that I hardly ever ride my regular bike anymore. There is no EV grin attached but now that it is going to get a little cooler in the next couple of months maybe, only maybe, I'll put air in the tires and take it out again. Then again maybe not.

5" not 5'. Seems like five feet but it's only inches and still raining.

Still, in less than 24 hours, that's a torrent of rain. In most areas, that's flash-flood level rain. Everything OK where you live?

And the Crystalyte Cruiser rules :) But I'm a little biased. How are the forks holding up with the beast up front?

Wow... you saw the same boring shit 100 times.

You should get a bag of pretzles or something while you're out.

That's a reasonable question. I live on a barrier island that is pretty much a shell/sand based soil and absorbs water well except in areas of heavy vegetation such as grass of which we have a lot. The pool is overflowing and the main pump went out so I'm using a small 2 stroke pump to keep it down and will have to pump my back yard tomorrow. All of this goes into a empty lot next door that is substantially lower (18 to 20 inches) than mine. This also means I have a lot of garden hose. It is illegal to pump this into the ICW and I eat the fish out of there so I don't do it. All this stuff happens a couple of times a year (except for the pool pump) so we're used to it, it's not a big deal. Across the river in town they have a pretty good drainage system and seldom have a serious problem.

The front forks are great. The bike is steel and has steel forks which makes it heavy and strong. I envy, sometimes, the guys with suspension but it's not hard to live with. I thought about a suspension seat post but the bike already sits high and I don't want the seat two or three inches higher just for the sake of a little softer ride.

One thing about the Cruiser though, it will use up some brake pads even when careful breaking becomes a habit. Between me, the motor, four SLA's and the steel frame it's a lot of weight for four little bitty pads.

i don't think i even have 100 miles on my first bike yet, ive had it for a few months too. i think i will ride my new bike a lot more since i don't have to take the batteries off of the bike and rewire them every time i need to charge them, that was a royal pain in the ass.

We aren't allowed to talk to you because you aren't an elite "member" of the club.

 Sorry... the bouncer can't let you in.

You will have to wait in the "1000 Mile Club" line and when you achieve the correct mileage then if there is no one else in line in front of you, only then, will we allow you to enter.

VIP's get an automatic pass into the club!

"End of Season"

Mileage is exactly 3,232 miles or "three two, three two" miles.

(had to ride around the block a few times to get that last mile  )

Well my first ebike just hit the 1000 mile mark on the way home tonight. That's 1000 miles in about 75 days. Should increase milage as the weather improves   Riding in the Northwest is a fender riding rain gear equiped experience.

Soon to be adding Lifebatts so........................... the fun will continue

I think next week i should hit around 2000km on the ebike... currently at 1810km lol!

I do around 50km a day on the bike so it is really working out for me really well!!!

Usually, I'm not into pissing contests but I thought I'd join this over here because I just realized that I have 3960.8 km logged!

~ tra ~ la ~ la ~

And this doesn't account for the unlogged distances of ....
- just going round and round in circles really fast
- hopping up and down on mountains really fast risking life and limb
- racing old ladies on granny bikes full of groceries
- peeling out wasting my tire
.... all of 4 months before I bought my cyclometer and 3 months before the Ebike conversion!

Nor the times that the cyclometer failed in cold weather and EM interference *wireless cyclometer blow goats* :? . LULZ

And considering the fact that I'm riding 20" wheels . . . that must be something to break my own arm patting myself on the back!

And you know what? I've had my bike for only 13 months, belleedat 8) LOLZ!!!111

Happy B-day to my Ride & Joy! Gosh, I-luv-me-my-bikey . . . *arms folded, chest heaving, looking off to the horizon with nostrils flaring*

3960.8 km / 2461.13 miles rock a llama's ass with a belt!

Chinese ebike manufacturers must think we're a bunch of nutters, ha ha!

3,500 miles

Technically my bike made it to 3,232 miles before a "runt" cell started going bad and needed replacement. (this started last fall) So from the same starting point 3,232 miles was my true limit before some intervention was required. (about typical for SLA's I guess)

However, after replacing the "runt" cell the other two are still working well and so the mileage continues. I guess the way to figure it is to take total mileage divided by total battery cost to end up with a dollar number.

The bike (Project #001) seems pretty reliable at this moment and is still able to rack up the miles... It would be nice to make it to 5,000 miles, if possible... then maybe I'll have to start the "5,000 Mile Club". :)

After that I think I will have had enough of it and will want to sell it... it will be time to move on to focus exclusively on the next projects.

So if there are buyers out there that can make it to Missouri to pick it up I'm willing to take offers. Go to my "Photo's Thread" (Safe's Project #001) if you want to make an offer. I'm figuring about $1000 would be enough. You need to pick it up in person though.

The new projects aren't even running yet, so this "for sale" idea is still off in the future a bit. I'd prefer someone who was really into this stuff who would continue to trick it out and make it even faster, better, etc... It would nice to learn that it makes it all the way to 10,000 miles one day. :)

Thundersky's fit perfectly by the way (12 of them)... so if you are willing to spend the cash this would make a great platform for that.

12 * 3.2 * 40 = 1536 Wh

Which would give a range of 50 miles... (with SLA's it's 12 - 15 miles)
