Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Hello,

I am using a VOTOL EM-100 controller A91072C8031HC "CAN 25/06/17" (Hardware version: 1.13, Software version: 2.33).
I experience a problem where the motor runs smoothly in reverse (even at 100% reverse speed limit), but in forward direction it has a noticeable jerk or “kick” at startup.

I have already tried adjusting:
  • Rate of rise / decline
  • Start torque / combinative torque
  • Start voltage and soft start grade
  • EBS settings
None of these changes solved the issue. Reverse mode is always smooth, but forward mode produces jerks when starting.

Could you please provide:
  1. The latest available firmware (.bin file) for EM-100 HW 1.13 (newer than SW 2.33 if possible),
  2. A recommended “base config” file or known good parameter set.
I would like to try flashing the new firmware using the VOTOL Upgrade Tool.
If you also have the official upgrade tool download link and instructions, that would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Best regards, Rieksts

Question on adding reverse.

I’m using a qs138 mid drive with a three year old em-150 non canbus. I’m building my own microcontroller based throttle - hardware and software. My custom config is controlling the throttle successfully. I’m trying to add reverse now. I have a transistor connected to a pin in my microcontroller, sending a 5v (multimeter reads 5.2v) to the grey/white and black line which in the diagram shows as being the reverse line. However while I’ve confirmed 5.2v is getting sent to that wire, and I can see in my software that the reverse is turned on, when I accelerate I still go forward. My software just sends a speed control voltage to the throttle like normal while also keeping 5.2v on at the reverse line. But I only go forward. Am I missing something?

I understand you have a Drive and Neutral gear selector. Have you disconnected the wires there? It's possible that if you have D engaged and connect 5V to Reverse, the system forces it into D.

I don’t have anything connected to drive. Right notes other than the throttle line I only have reverse plugged in

Often reverse is enabled when the reverse signal wire with pull-up voltage from controller is connected to ground.
Could this be the case with your controller?

Hello
I need to know that i program the Votol EM50 with a ch341A programmer. I live in Cuba, i don't have to buy PL2303

Jeszcze jedno. W samochodzie jest stary, czarny moduł EM100. Znajomy kupił nowy moduł EM100, bo myślał, że stary jest zepsuty, bo licznik kilometrów migał dwiema kropkami zamiast pokazywać napięcie akumulatora. Po podłączeniu nowego modułu i uruchomieniu silnika silnik szarpie bez dotykania przepustnicy. Pobrałem plik bin ze starego modułu i zapisałem go w nowym EM100.

Hey Guys, I just read the 51 page thread and I see some frustration and great suggestions. My issue didn't seem to be covered. My EM150 is being seen by v3 software as a EM30 and refuses to accept any new settings. Oddly I can see a few settings I know I entered like the phase angle but sadly I can connect, read the settings but can't write any settings. Is anyone aware of a way to reset this? Or perhaps have the BIN file mentioned in the documentation?

4.1 update ECU program.
4.1.1 connect the serial port line and the upper computer and controller successfully.
4.1.2 open the "bin" file, select the bin file and download it. The prompt "CCC The last digit of "d" shows "d", indicating that the download is successful. Serial port line is divided into the following models: em-30 ~ em-150 general, em-200, em-300, ca
I have this problem now.....how did u fix it?

Thank you Russ. Yes I'm connected well and when I write Pram it says successful but it does not really accept the change. After writing the pram and exiting the program, the next time I load the program and connect it shows the EM30 settings. I've tried multiple ways but it just doesn't want to write the pram. I think if I had the update mentioned in the manual it could be a possible fix. Tried writing in calibration mode but no luck. All versions of the software do this but I'm trying this right now on the newest version that has the check sum windows, which also indicates a mismatch.
How did u fix this

Thanks! I input those values but the controller is now bricked. Such a bummer. The busbar current and overvoltage settings show 0 now. If I change and save those settings, they revert to 0 when I cycle the key.

Maybe Ill try a kelly controll
Friend, could you send me the Votol software version 2.33? I need it.

Hello, I'm happy to be on this forum. I've read all 122 pages looking for a solution to my problem.

The firmware on my EM150SP has been corrupted during handling and an early shutdown.
I have an ST-Link v2 installed and I've tried all the BIN files that a user on this forum has, which are the same as the ones for the Vino programmer. I flash any BIN file and then I can't access it from the Votol app. I already know all the configurations I need to enter to be able to access it, but it still won't let me.
If anyone has a BIN file for the EM150SP (SW2.32, HW1.13) and could share it with me, I would be very grateful. The board says EM150V2 CAN-V2 and there's a small sticker that says EM-150S/CAN.

I'll keep looking, but if anyone can help me, I'd be very grateful.

I also have, for anyone who needs it, a factory .ini file for my Taro T10 EM150SP and another one from Siaecosis for the QS138 V1 3000W

I don't understand much, but perhaps these bin files are for loading from VOTOL, but to program from ST Linkv2, a firmware that includes the bootloader is necessary, because it's possible that flashing it erased it.

Hello,

Can someone help me with regen braking on my Votol Em100?

I would love to have this feature work even if it just aids slightly in braking.

I wired one of my brake switch wires from my Magura MT5E master then to the “low-brake” wires.

I enabled “low brake” on the programming software and tried 10-20%. All I’m getting is the message in the software that the side-side is down and it cuts the motor off, not actually braking like normal regen..

Hola,

Try it with the brake high. It should work that way.
