Cyclone 1200w vs ebay Hub Motors

Hello and Welcome Cyclone= Not suggested. Hub DD= ideal when combined with a high voltage, high amperage setup. Feels more like a motorcycle. Hub GD= ideal for low voltage, low amperage requirements. Pedal assist on hills. Feels more like a bicycle. Suggest: Geared hub motor rear wheel drive...

(iZip Zuma) vs (Pedego Cruiser) vs (Prodeco Phantom X)

IMHO pedaling is part of the fun. When I replace my broken motor with a smaller one I thought it was going to suck on hills. Turns out, it was much more fun. It was just the right balance of power to weight. If the upgrade bug has you, figure out how much you want to spend per mile. If you...

Exercise question for Phantom X owners and others

Consider a rear mini geared hub motor kit and a small 48v battery pack if you want the bike to feel more like a bike. Match the bicycle to your size, terrain and budget. If you are a bicyclist who plans to pedal for exercise you are correct to question the build quality of the bicycle. Know...

Convince me to get a Watt Meter & Power Analyzer

I considered getting a Watt Meter. Asked myself what will I do with the data recorded? So I didn't get one. I also crossed dynamometer off my list, too.

    TranceX3

That is a good looking bike. I went from a large 500w geared hub to a 350w mini geared and I must say my bike feels more like a bike now. Especially when you have a $2,000 bicycle frame, not counting the motor and batteries, it should strive to be more bike than scooter. What motor do you...

Well just received my new Phantom X after a six month wait.

One thing I really liked about the Phantom X is the lifepo4 battery pack. Zuma uses Li-Ion.

(iZip Zuma) vs (Pedego Cruiser) vs (Prodeco Phantom X)

A month ago I slammed into a speed bump that had been paved over with black top at 25mph. It hurt like hell and I felt it for the next few days. Lucky for me I didn't lay the bike down. I did however end up damaging the Bafang BPM2 motor. Since I don't have the special tool to open it up, I can...

Ok, but rather than hijack this thread, I'll post an update over there instead.

Well just received my new Phantom X after a six month wait.

6 months? I almost ordered one back in May. Ended up with the iZip Zuma instead because the Phantom X was on back order. Glad I didn't order one. I've already saved $2,400 vs taking a taxi in the past 6 months. Taxi $30 round trip, 5 days a week, 6 months= $3,900 iZip Zuma= $1,500 Not waiting...

E-bikekit rear geared hub kit, powerful in standard form?

I replaced my Bafang BPM2 with an ebikekit 350w rear. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=33763 The mini is not as powerful as the BPM2, MAC or the BMC. However, the mini is a great for a bicyclist looking for assist. Even better when combined with a light weight battery. Very...

    Geared hubs

Copper gears? First upgrade your battery and controller to 48v 30a. 1400w should get you moving 25mph easy. If you burn the motor out, replace it with what you can afford. MAC BMC v2 Bafang BPM2 http://ebike-bmsbattery.com http://www.sdelectricbike.com/BMC_MAC.html...

350w geared mini (e-bikekit or ampedbikes)

Not me! I pedal hard off the line and roll the throttle up slowly to WOT every time. And this is on a 5 mile commute of 4% grade rolling hills and a short 16% grade for a tenth of a mile. Rated for 350w; but seems good for 1kw peak assist.

    Prodeco Phantom X2

The Phantom X1 and X2 are assembled in the USA from foreign parts. These are assembled to order which is why they always have a 30-60 day turnaround time; less overhead, nothing in stock. Have you not seen the prices for a custom kit from china? http://ebike-bmsbattery.com/index.php

    UltraMotor bankruptcy

Last I checked the motors were made in Taiwan. Taiwan is an island off the east coast of China, and is part of the Republic of China. My iZip Zuma cost HALF of that at $1,300 shipped. Competition is a bitch.

    Mini Hub Motor

So you want to use a 24v hub motor for a chain drive bike at 92v? Good luck. Just might want to consider: http://www.ebikes.ca/store/store_stokemonkey.php http://www.cyclone-tw.com/index.html http://www.electricscooterparts.com/motors60volt.html

350w geared mini (e-bikekit or ampedbikes)

I assume it is. Looks like manufactures, such as Bafang, Ecity Power Co, or Leaf Motor Co supply retailers such as e-bikekit or ampedbikes, etc who opt to have their brand name etched into the motor.

    1) yes; 44T x 14T @ 80 rpm cadence = 20mph 2) yes; on flats, but it's rare that I use the 14T because majority hills 3) 44T x 11T @ 80 rpm = 24mph; use the calculator http://cycleseven.org/bicycle-gear-inch-calculator 4) I wouldn't push this motor to hard, slowly ramp up your throttle at take...

36v 25a is a good match for the 350w mini. Using the stock Currie Technologies iZip Zuma controller.
