gas price thread

I know last time in Florida it cost me about £20 to fill our hire car, to fill my car in the UK costs about £50-£60.

Last month the average US gallon cost $6.68 in the UK

Wonder what the price is currently in Hawaii?
I looked on gasbuddy.com and the cheapest seems to be $3.09 but the average is listed at $3.455.

Here in Northern California I see $2.30 to $2.49. I fill up my Prius at Arco and pay with a $20 bill and lately, I have to go in and get change. 8)

Wish it was that cheap here !, when im on holiday and not at work I save a total fortune on fuel.

It just dropped by a penny from yesterday, $2.28 for regular and $2.48 for premium. Haven't seen that Cap and Trade tax yet. :?

Well darn. I was out of town so I didn't see it, people around me noticed but didn't get the exact jump. I've yet to see an explanation of what makes it go up how much.

finally got $1.99. $19.20 for a fillup. change from a 20. used to be $40.

but it is evil since so many people are losing their jobs in the production area though. i expect 1/2-2/3 of the drilling fleet to be laid up by summer and 240k jobs gone.

texas real estate already impacted. north dakota is gonna be deserted by summer. abandoned man camps and rv parks.

Opec is controlling world oil prices. They would like to crush North Dakota oil fields. They can afford it. As it's a waiting game for opec. Just crush the new found oil fields of USA. And the puppet people of the United States. Puppets.

Price today in central NJ for regular - most of the usual low price stations $ 1.889 gal. BJ's Wholesale Club $ 1.819 for non members and $1.719 for BJ's Perks Plus ( credit card ) members, full service. In NJ it is not legal to pump your own gas. Attendant will come to your vehicle. There is a service area on the North end of the Garden State Parkway that gets a lot of out of state traffic . Attendants ( gas jockeys, no more cleaning of windows, etc. ) average $60 to $80 a day in tips from people who never had their gas pumped for them before.

Yup, that is basically what is happening but it is mostly the Saudis who driving this and it's not really the US they are after but Russia. Russia pissed them off so they are teaching them a lesson. These gas prices are hitting Russia's economy hard. My sister just filled up for less than $20.00 but she has a small car. $1.699 for the no-name stuff here at the Jersey Shore.

There was a ripple like that here too. Now it is continuing to drop below where it was before the ripple.

Filled my car up yesterday and it cost, what equates to $88 for a tank of regular, if I had put super in I think it would break ther $100 mark.

So they're saying that the refinery slowdown has finally caught up with the oversupplied inventory, the reserve tanks are no longer full. California will be switching blends about now so there's NOTHING stored for that. They'll get prices back up some.

Totally off topic but I'll have to remember this next time I'm at the airport paying $10-$15 per gallon for a bottle of filtered tap water.

Bam! up 10 cents in one weekend.

I have a sneaky feeling that after they financially damage the competition, the prices will go back up about as fast as they came down.

Right now might be a good time to buy an electric car.

it really is a good time to start watching for the Leaf cars coming off their leases if you buy at the dealerships and there will be more of the new model Leafs they will be desperate to sell. i finally bot a honda civic hybrid and i now see lots of them offered on CL too.

gas made a bottom just before the refineries begin their maintenance period and there is a strike at 9 of the larger refineries now also so that has pushed the price of gas back up.

crude made a desperate bottom around $43.50 on thursday and then when the rig count drop came out friday there was a huge short covering move in the commodity into the close friday and the move continued up today.

several of the oil producers i follow made 10% moves off the lows friday and they were making new high for this move with some up 20-30% off the margin call and hedge fund busts of december and january lows.

it seems that the trade has turned, it is now clear that the lay down will be almost 50% by april or may and we have most probably hit the high in production for this country for the next 10 years maybe forever. last week was 9.23mmbopd, may get to 9.31 before the last of the momentum from last year's production gains trails off.

I paid $0.759/liter for regular unleaded yesterday. Today its $0.849/liter

GasBuddy is a good program to use to find the cheapest gas in your area for Canada, perhaps USA.

For awhile there I wasnt paying $1.20'ish, since I was on the poormans transportation vehicle aka bus.

FYI Car2Go in some major cities in Canada and the USA, you do not have to pay for gas.
There is an minute rate, hourly rate, and day rate. $0.40/min, $15/hour, $85/day with free parking within their zones.
Beats a taxi ride if your in the zone!
These things fit me 6'6" 300lbs, dunno about 2 big people in it though.
Excellent traction, good tires. Was on a steep slope, stopped, cars were slipping backwards, car2go smart car blasts past them easily.
Remember drive them hard, accelleration isnt anything to be proud of, but the fuel efficiency is amazing.
Would I buy one, NO WAY!!!!!
A small Toyota or Honda is a better deal, and slightly less efficient but you dont look like a dork.
