Hobbyking Shipping Issues

So i'm having a hell of a time getting quantities of packs thru the shopping cart....

A few weeks ago, wanted to order several 8ah 6S packs, trying to check-out the HK site would not let me get to the shipping options window, saying size/weight was exceeded.... tried their support with no luck ( given options to add large plane to my order etc... i don't want a f'n plane... )

Finally managed to order the 5ah packs instead.

today.. trying again to get 7 more, but no go.... of the 8ah or 5ah...

anyone else ?

i was back ordered on an order of three 8Ah 5S nanotechs but they arrived within few weeks. no mention of weight or total capacity limit. just backordered.

my 15S total would have been 3 more than your 12S so that may be the breaking point, around 15S of 8Ah. 120Ah.

Just got four packs home once all right, njet problemo.
Always using the EU-hub now, no more international orders.

I think there has been another crack down at EMS. Y is not ordering from a local warehouse.

I have taken to not ordering much more than 5 ah at a time, and the mailman stopped giving me the stink eye when the package comes. Besides, I can never afford more anyway.

I place a big order with Hobbyking, from their UK warehouse, for delivery to the UK. Mostly batteries, some other stuff, everything was "in stock", $400 worth. I placed the order on May 25, on May 28, it was showing up as "dispatched.

I had opted for Parcelforce's "express 48", which means "delivery within 48 hours". HK's web site says that, so does Parcelforce.

By June 3, nothing had arrived. So I used the Hobbyhing "live chat" to look into it. The agent assured me that it had indeed been dispatched, but this it could take up to 10 working days. Which, of course, is rubbish.

Then, on June 4 (today), I got another notification from HK. "dispatched". So I did another livechat. The agent denied that it had been showing as dispatched on May 28, gave me a new tracking number (which doesn't track). So I asked him "Since I ordered on May 25, and everything was in stock, how come it wasn't dispatched until June 4?"

The real answer, I suspect, is an administrative muddle at HK. The answer I was given was that they had too many orders, and couldn't cope. And that it will take 3-6 days to arrive. Which is wrong, it should be 48 hours, as per the Parcelforce promise, and as is implied by the "48" in "Express 48".

So, I'm annoyed with Hobbyking. Not so much for the delay; the reason I'm annoyed is that they keep lying to me.

That is usual Chinese business practice. They lie to you, that is if you ever have the chance to get them to talk to you after they cashed your money. One good point for HK though: I always receive my orders, sooner or later.

...here in 'murica the warehouse agents are bots. (tested)
I never expect a clear or correct answer from a bot.
ymmv

Ive spent well over 3k at hobbyking and never really had a problem. You will always get your order one way or another even if its not in time. I can always expect the US warehouse to get to me in less than a week since I order with priority mail.

Same(well about $2k). I can even pick up from their Aussie warehouse if I'm up for a 90 minute drive.

I never trust those crooks. I have seen it many times before here on the forum about these kind of practice.

My advice? Just stay away.

If he ordered from uk warehouse wouldn't it be people in the UK at fault?
I watch those UK immigration buster shows on TV now and then and I am pretty sure they would only have UK citizens in there or at least standard UK work practices. TV doesn't lie (at least in reality TV shows) :|

Probably UK people run the UK warehouse. But I'd guess that the "livechat" isn't run by UK people, it would be based wherever is cheap, I'd guess China.

I don't think they're bots. But I think they have an objective like "Make lots of apologies, assure the customer that everything will be OK, say whatever you need to say to keep him happy"

I think my first access to Livechat triggered the goods actually being dispatched, although I can't be sure of that, as they haven't arrived yet, and given their past record, I wouldn't be sure of dispatch, until arrival happens.

I don't think they're crooks. They've always sorted out problems, eventually. But I do think they're not as competent as I would like, and I think their Livechat staffers don't value truth.

Update - Parcelforce (the people I used to call The Royal Mail, a great example of how to abandon a wonderful brand) show my parcel as arriving at their depot yesterday. So I think it's on its way!

Cultural Differences. It's like that with newly arrived illegal immigrants here on the Mexico USA border, till they get more Americanized.

It's not polite to say something that will surely piss you off. So it's not a lie to them. It's just keeping you from being mad.

Once they dispatch, the shipping goes fine in most cases. But expecting the dispatch to take less than a week is pointless. Never want anything from hobby king or bms battery fast.

One thing I learned, plan your battery purchases for the winter, after the stock is back up in late January- March. Don't order in late spring or early summer when the demand is high. Ships in a day or so in winter.

verything arrived yesterday, shipping took just two days, as per "Express 48".

But.

The 8s batteries have two 4s balance leads, not one 8s. I did know that beforehand, so not a big problem. HK tech support suggested buying a thing from them that converts two 4s to an 8s, but that's "out of stock", and in my experience, could stay that way for months. But, as I said, not a problem. I'd already bought a bunch of 8s and 4s extension leads, so by cutting them in half, and doing a bit of soldering I wired up a converter for 2 x 4s to one 8s. I got the idea from this forum. It was easy to do, the key is to make sure that you identify the two leads that are separated by 30v, and DONT connect those!

So I'm a happy bunny now, but I would endorse what other people have said about HK - they do good prices - no, they do excellent prices - but don't order from them if you're in a hurry. And remember, they'll often tell you what you're hoping to hear, whether or not that's true.

you don't know that. by assuming you know why it was late you may miss the actual reason. for all you know it was just sitting on the dock waiting for your specialized delivery service to drive out there and pick it up. it may have nothing to do with HK.

after some debarkles with this particular company, i couldnt help thinking 'Parcelfarce' was a better suited name.

as for HK though, iv always got my stuff pretty soon and never had any cause to complain.
except maybe that their e-mail stock notifications seem to be bullshit.

I'm waiting on a refund that's pushing 2+ weeks right now. It's the same responses every time I ask when I will receive it, just stringing me along... Now I'm waiting on Paypal dispute service to make things right. We shall see!

That the problems I had. The product arrived correct but 2 times I was double billed and another time they couldn't find my order but had no problem keeping my money that I sent. Who knows it could be my computer, paypal too. So I guess I really can't point all my fingers. And another time they didn't send out my order but had no problem keeping the money. They said they we're waiting for me to call and verify my identity from fraud. Its been a hassle for me but the money is a slave for me and their prices cant be beat. and the computer stare down discount price never worked for me, at check it always went back to normal price. With all said I will still buy from them but only with paypal

FYI, do not believe what HobbyKing customer service say. If something is not right, do PayPal dispute and go ALL the way. They will tell you to drop the PayPal dispute and send your item back. But don't do it. Tell them to send you another one right away and will only drop the dispute when the replacement item arrives.

I made the mistake of dropping the case and shipping the item back. Then everything went to hell. They refused to talk to me. Wasted my money on buying the item and shipping to ship it back to them which they got because I had tracking.

Lesson learned: open dispute and only drop it when replacement item arrives.

If they tell you they cannot send the new one out until you drop the dispute, just ignore it. The them you cannot drop the dispute until you get the replacement item.

With other sellers, I usually give them the benefit of the doubt and trust them. But this is HobbyKing. Don't trust them. Use PayPal and dispute if something is wrong.

How much did it cost you to ship the battery back to China?

Sounds about right. I ordered one of these "Lipo to USB Charging Adapter" from HK and the site said it was in stock but it only came after like 1.5months
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24405__hobbyking_lipo_to_usb_charging_adapter.html
And it totally didn't work, Dogman said he got one and his never worked either.
I went straight to paypal dispute and HK never responded to it, I escalated, HK got the full time to respond like a month or something then when that time was up Paypal just gave me my money. I guess they felt it was better just to make me wait as long as possible to get my $8 back by doing nothing rather then making it quicker.

I got this from ebay and it works great much cheaper too. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2in1-DC-4-5-40V-To-5V-2A-USB-Charger-DC-DC-Step-down-Converter-Voltmeter-Module/351066848893?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222006%26algo%3DSIC.FITP%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107090050%26meid%3D7491213558021134936%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D20140107090050%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D281342778912
