Very exciting!

So my immediate first thought is - what are the brake levers for? Do I have to get rid of my existing brakes (I have hydraulics) or are they supplementary?

I tossed the brakes and I am using my hydraulics with no issues. Just don't pedal or throttle at the same time you brake or you may end up hosing your blue nylon drive gear. I think some people have been able to install hydraulic brake sensors or switches. It is a non issue for me, I am accustomed to motorcycles and I do not use the throttle when braking.

What I really like about the throttle is using it as a clutch. I can shift on the gun now, just ride in turbo assist and then squeeze the throttle a fraction of a second before you shift (the lag will stall the motor temporarily) and then release the throttle and shift lever at the same time It helps to have fairly wide ratio gearing too.

The brake sensors just look like a simple push button. Perhaps I could remove the button and add them to my hydraulic levers anyhow.

Mine has been over 58v when fully charged since new. My little understanding and reading, has suggested that the individual batteries in the package may not all be charged to the same level, and that they become more 'balanced' after each charge. This may depend on the quality of the charger.

Yeah but you are a cheater You have the 52v version of the motor, I have the 48v version. I cannot get my motor to fire over 56.2v at present, although it used to be about 55.8 so it is getting a little better. I probably should revise my firmware however I only have 400 miles and it now allows .4v more, I am wondering if it will keep increasing over time...

Instructions - lol. There is a website with a couple pdf's, I think Casainho has them on his website too. One pdf is for install, the other is for the display and how to get into the settings mode. I think I got mine from this website:

I love the white cotton gloves and the bottom bracket coming off with no tools. That's exactly how I do it.

Note at the very end he uses a special tool to dent the chainstay to make room for the gear housing. Do not do that! Maybe with a steel frame but not aluminum! Use BB spacers instead.

Well, for the part about the eeprom values, that was just a guess of me that I told you.

Love the crimper tool also. A frame builder friend of mine built one of that purpose years ago but it wasn't hydraulic. I doubt it would work on alu frames well in any case as that material isn't as malleable as steel.

Back somewhere on the 92 pages was some discussion on an adapter to change to 100mm width on the bottom bracket ( fat bike ) has anyone done a conversion and can they put up a link to where I can get such an adapter.

I laughed at that too. But... also I was unsure how to get the correct torque when using a weird tool like that bottom bracket tool as you can't use a normal torque wrench - so how do you get the correct torque?

I have quite a large gap between the securing plate and the motor body. See pic:

I assume I just need to get some longer bolts and a few more washers but wondered if there was anything else I need to worry about here.

Has anyone else run into a similar issue?

It looks like you have a 73mm bb but ordered the 68mm kit? The 73mm kit includes an extra set of longer bolts and an extra set of spacers, plus the reg size ones too. If you ordered the 73mm kit check your packaging, I only found the longer bolts and extra spacers after having the same exact issue!

Ah... that would explain it!

It says it's suitable for both 68mm and 73mm so I assume they usually include both fittings but I've just re-checked all the packaging and it only came with the fittings for the 68mm BB unfortunately - so off to the hardware store for me!

Hmm, also didn't come with a M8 x 40 bolt to attach the fixing block - that's a bit annoying!

Edit: My mistake - I found the bolt! But it does require some washers to give it a good fit.

The fixing block was more unnecessary parts for me My FS bike won't allow it to work, but the motor isn't moving on me with just a hd cable tie holding it in place. That fixing block and bolt are heavy too, although when carrying a 25lb Cecil and a 10 lb rear carrier I guess a few ozs of weight is meaningless

Haha yes that's it really. I guess at 72kg I probably weigh a good 10 kg less than most adult guys anyhow so I have a bit of room to play with weight-wise!

Why does my speedo cable have 2 connectors??

The manual only shows a single connection:

And what's this mysterious 1-into-2 cable for? I'm guessing it goes into the other connector from the speedo but where does it go to? I can't see anywhere that would take these type of connectors?

It's an odd coincidence that you mention this; I was just looking into swapping my TSDZ2b from my current bike onto a fat tire bike with a 100mm bottom bracket. I did some searching, and I found a site that has one. I have no idea if it's any good, but I'm probably going to buy one and try it out.
