New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

The real question is where can we get a connector with wires attached that can connect to the kt-lcd3 display? Yhen we can just quick splice those wires to the controller wires and be ready to go :)

Mine came with a cable from pswpower, its more than long enough.

Ok second video is up.. Enjoy :)

Yep the sprag clutch transfers your pedal power to your chain this is independent of the motor whether it is running or not. It’s fairly easy to replace if you have a small press. You could probably make something up using an old hydraulic car jack or just go to a local mechanic and see if he can help to remove the old bearing and press the new bearing in. It is a CSK30P check out eBay, I got mine delivered for about $15 !!
This is what my bike was doing

Thanks Drum, Jbalat and others, yes it appears that this bearing has seen better days, glad that I don't have to replace the whole tsdz2:

One thing I suggest you do, before you put in the new bearing, is to open it and grease it with quality grease. Generally the bearings come with little grease and the one that has, generally, is not of quality.

See this video how it works.

This operation I learned in a bicycle shop that does it whenever it installs new bearings in a bike.

2. Well, I'm not sure if it will recording the data with switched off screen - but will test it - as long as I'm ready with data log functionality.
Anyway it's an interesting idea - so will try to implement to work so.
I've tested, it works well with switched off screen. Here's the output:
http://www.wptm.hu/ebmdisplay/2018-08-03.csv
You can download and open it with an Excel eg.

And I think it's time to give you the download link for the android app. Its name is: ebmDisplay.
http://www.wptm.hu/ebmdisplay/
Was tested on two Android Phones. During first start it requests for several permissions. Just give the permissions and restart the app until it asks for no more permissions.

feketehegyi, I already saw the file in exel.

It's wonderful.

But I tried to view or convert to GPX on GPSvisualizer.com and it gave me error.

What will it be?

thanks

Sunday I will start an MTB 7 days trip from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago Compostela, Spain, 660km, and I have no time to test the app before I came back.

Is one of the Santiago way.

Whoopsss did I already destroy the motor?

After one week and 260km I just had this issue. It seems the motor is slipping even when the motor is off. Here is a video:

So... I'm guessing it could be the blue gear.. However I'm open for suggestions. I guess tomorrow I will operate my motor and see what's inside.

Or... actually the Sprag Clutch? I found this video:

and this one about replacing:

The KT display comes with a cable long enough to get into the motor. I think splicing into the existing wires that attach to the controller is the way to go, I might use my network connector ?

Anybody ever tried to hook up a Grin Technologies Cycle Analyst to the TSDZ2? Shouldn't that be capable of everything we like?

Amazing the detail to where you go!!

So, I think I will put your videos on the wiki for on How To Install the firmwares instead of writing the instructions!! :) :)

Hi MaartenL
Looks like the sprag clutch is slipping. The blue gear is between the motor and the chainring, the sprag clutch is between the pedals and the chainring.
With a blown blue gear, you could still pedal effectively.

I ended up using the y splitter cable connector I got with my speed sensor. It only had red and black wires on the connector so had to trim it all the way back to the pins. Looks ok, now I don't have to open the motor up, just unplug my vlcd5 and plug this in :)
I was hoping the display could be programmed through this cable but unfortunately it won’t power up with the stlink

You have my respect for making that connector from the speed sensor cable
I have tried that ..cutting back to the pins and soldering on the 4 wires...but it is a bitch of a job requireing 3+ hands, bionic eyes, and the ice cool shake free hand on the knife and soldering iron.
Sooo frustrating,..i had to take the weekend off after my first attempt... :? :?
BUT?? The connector on my vlcd5 to the drive is a much bigger size than the speed sensor connector ?
Or , did you intend to say you are connecting via the speed sensor input.?

Ha ha yes very fiddly work took me about an hour. So when I ordered the speed sensor cable they sent me the wrong one they sent me a y splitter instead luckily this came with an extension that had the right connector on it however it only had red and black wires connected so I had to pull the whole thing apart. It plugs into the motor at the bottom next to the speed sensor. The y cable is used to add lights. This is it here http://www.pswpower.com/ven.php?cargo.2017-cm-jnqg

I've made one from scratch. Still need to improve the technology, :) but seems to be a good start.
This version enables controller immediately and no brake input in the centre.

Guys , you are talking about different connections for different functions.
The center pin on the SPEED SENSOR cable connector is the RST programming link and one of the FOUR wires i assume essential for working on the controller settings.
Your 3 wire connection on the DISPLAY connector is very different.

Yes, mine is for the display.

Hopefully my display and battery charger will arrive this week. Everything else was already delivered except for the motorcycle mirror mount. I am so looking forward to having a mirror! I am surprised that bikes don't come with at least a left side mirror from the factory. I still need to order a 62v capable charger but for now I will charge them individually and then drain them to 62 before attempting to use them. I have some time to work on the bike this week so hopefully they will arrive soon!

Hello,
my name is Hergen and I come from Germany. I have the 36 volt motor with a 36 volt battery pack.
I flashed the LCD3 with 0.2.hex.
Then I flashed the controller with 0.2.hex. The display starts and I can zap and configure through the menus.
I set the battery pack to 10 cells, 16 Amp, 30 Volt. What else do I have to adjust?
At the moment I have no support from the engine and pushing backwards has a high resistance.
I have no throttle and no brake sensor.
I had this text translated with Deepl.
I'm at a loss for the moment.
Many greetings

Hi Hergen.
I answered to you on the thread TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=93818&p=1401133#p1401133

For your next video, please don't forget to flash firmware on TSDZ2 motor controller as STM8xxxC6!! Because firmware is over the 16kbytes flash memory of C4 version and the C4 version simple is the C6 version (you just need to force the flash software to think it is a C6 version).

Yes you are right it was too big for x4 but flashed ok with x6
Unfortunately my display was not getting any data. I am thinking maybe my cable was wrong
I don't have throttle so I used the colors for 6 pin.
Can you Check if the wiring looks ok. This is from the back of the connector from the ktlcd3 that plugs into the motor display socket.
