new tsdz8 pswpower

You can buy torque sensor from PSW, but it is expensive. I would buy new motor and keep old one for spares.

59km/h? 1700W output? You really need a motorbike, or electric scooter not a bicycle.

Disassembly:

Nice disassembly video comparison! Where in Europe is Varstrom? (he speaks perfect Amer english).

Here's a video of him installing a TSDZ8 into a carbon frame. total weight 17 kg (less pedals).

Maybe put motor back together, install on bike, make a convincing video demonstrating the problem with motor, send it to the seller and see what kind of warranty you'll get?
yeah I'll give that a go, nothing to lose.

Onto my second TSDZ8 after the first one broke.

Slight difference with the motor cables: shorter battery cable and display cable is 8 pin male (previous one female) and display is VLCD5. So will get female-female 8 pin adapter cable for the intelligent 810s display that I got with the first motor.

This time I will be using the easy rear gears to set off from stationary starts (52X36)
I'm keeping the 52V battery and 52 tooth front chainring.
Tending to keep the cadence higher now above 90rpm, staying in the 14T rear cog more and rarely in 11T.

I've done roughly 260km/160miles on the new motor, over the last 10 days and have had no repeat of the impact wrench sound/ratchet spinning sounds that were associated with periods of high torque.

Summary:
Performs well, no repeat of issues with last motor yet.
Shaves 30-50 minutes off commute while still providing some training effect.
Allows me to get up to 10-12 hours cycling in a week without causing too much fatigue.
Faster than the car at rush hour.
After 17 days of commuting by bike instead of car, the motor will have paid for itself

Does anyone have software for the 860c for Tsdz8, or knows how to make the 860c work with Tsdz8, now I have an error when I connect 0AH, I know that the display can work with Tsdz8, but it's hard to get the software (I don't want to buy , I want to do it myself), or maybe anyone has new software for ekd01(this with blue screen) older I've got.

My Tsdz8 has failed at around the 2000miles/3000km mark.
Lasted about 10 weeks.
Speeds on open road of 57-59kmph, computer reading 1500-1700W continuous output.
Moral of the story: do not run a motor rated for continuous 750w at >=1500w continuous.

It's a shame we have to trawl through post after post where users have problems because they misused the motor or kept riding in low gear etc etc. It masks visibility of genuine "within spec" problems the drive has.

TSDZ8 is currently around 300€ on AliExpress and many vendors have it in stock, to me this means that demand is there and it will sell well. also some parts seem to be almost same to tsdz2, but that doesn't mean its the same "junk".
the tsdz2 could only be used at 12a max or you risked motor and controller overheating and damage, this new tsdz8 seems to be around 24a and a comparison on YouTube with bbs02 showed that its build slightly better than bafang, so to me that was enough reason to try this motor out. soon i will install it when i get a donor bike then i will see how it performs
Matze, did you receive your TSDZ8? how do you find the motor when using?

Is this motor better than Bafang bbs02 on hills.is it stronger at same current? Better at low or high cadence? Does it overheat more or less than bbs02?

At 48V 16A it doesn't overheat at all under any circumstances. It can climb any hills with ease.

As per BBS02, do you expect us to buy, install and make this comparison for you?

Some people have both you know,I was referring to them.use your head

Few more weeks experience with my second tsdz8 motor, it's still running well, but it's definitely a bit slower than my first motor. This one tops out about 50kmph previous one I clocked over 60kmph. I need to be pushing about 300Watts myself to get the motor to top speed so it's a serious workout. Will probably fit assioma power meter pedals to isolate my input and aid training.

I don't have the same display on this one so I can't see how much power it is drawing, still waiting for the cable adapter to arrive.

I'm using the exact same set up other that the different display, so I suspect the first motor was faulty/torque sensor faulty from the offset, or within the first day.

I'll continue to use this motor out of spec, as it's running tremendously well.

Have a BBSHD on the way from china so will be interesting to see how they compare.

My use case doesn't appear to be typical, I want a training effect and to cover relatively long distances daily, so the torque sensing might be more to my liking.

On the other hand I do want the bike to go quite a bit faster on empty country roads than my current TSDZ8 is capable of.

Would still recommend this motor.

It is not about having both motors. It is about questions you ask. Good luck finding somebody who would own TSDZ8 and BBS02, was willing to come up with methodology and then measure torque of both motors under identical circumstances just to present results to you. If you find such person, please let me know. I will nominate him to the nerd of the year award.
Thats not what you said first.Nothing wrong with theese questions, this is an ebike forum you know.If you dont know simply dont answer.I think you already have nominated yourself as a clear winner as the nerd of the year

I have just received mine, which was ordered from AliExpress. I previously had a TSDZ2B which is now showing signs of fatigue...
With this one I will install the throttle... It will also go on a different bike (hybrid/commuter, previously using a mountain bike)

I have now done the installation, it all went well, even though I had to shave a bit of the gear cable housing under the frame to make it fit.
The motor is really good, although I must have the old firmware because assist level 1 and 2 are basically useless. I have ordered a JT Link.
The motor is noticeably better than my old TSDZ2B (with OSF).
The cables/harness are much longer than needed, but that's better than too short !
I have also ordered a great switch sensor from AliExpress

What do you mean by level 1 and 2 are being useless? I think TSDZ8 is a much stronger motor than TSDZ2B. Do you need a lot of power to pedal with the motor? Or do you just want to go fast?

I've thought about buying a TSDZ8 but I'm concerned that it's senseless compared to the OSF of the TSZD2B. I think it only has four levels of assist.

I really like the TSDZ2B's OSF because you can tune the assist level to whatever you want. But hardware is no good. Bearings are no good.

I hope that someone please would make OSF to TSDZ8.

1 and 2 are way too strong.

On my motor, at level assist 1 or 2 there is almost no help from the motor when I pedal. Most of the time it sits at 0W.
On level 2 if I press hard on the pedals, it finally helps, but only 100W -200W.

Also the double clutch is very good. Without any assistance, you can ride it like a normal bike, there is no resistance from the motor.
This is much better than the TSDZ2 - riding it without assistance was much harder than riding a normal bike

I ordered a TSDZ8 48/750 watt from https://www.affordableebikes.ca, located in Canada. They have a good reputation on the Ebikes Discord.

They also rebuild/build high-quality batteries, so I purchased this one.

They will be making sure the firmware is updated before shipping.

For anyone who has a TSDZ8:

How long have you had yours? How has the performance and reliability been so far? Is there anything to watch out for? Did you update your firmware or ride it as is?

I hope it'll help me tackle these dreadful hills on my return home from anywhere I go. Plus, I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, which seems to be getting worse every year, with occasional flare-ups preventing me from walking, but oddly, cycling isn't so bad.

I have the TSDZ8, and before updating the firmware, 1 and 2 had no power. With the latest upgrade it is excellent, good power and quiet. You do need the Jlink to do the upgrade, but it is very simple to do.
Good directions here:

The files needed are linked on that page.

I have both the TSDZ8 and TSDZ2B, and I like them both, but the 8 feels so much more powerful and well built. And extremely quiet.
I bought it on eBay, free shipping from Las Vegas.

I've had mine since September and it's stopped working, ,vlcd5 shows error code E1, not sure what that means, can't find anything on Google, going to sell it and buy another, can't be bothered to fix it, until I got the error code it's been brilliant, quiet , powerful and feels right , a lot better than the tsdz2 and tsdz2b of which I've had a few , did get 23,000 km out of my first tsdz2 before the blue gear failed
