Speedict Ebike - Anybody seen/tried this?

For legalmode 2, no pedaling, 6kmh start was a bit slow as i said. I tried the setting 'soft start' with different gain values but that would result in max. speed 25kmh on throttle with no pedaling. It's not legal anymore. If you can make the 6kmh start better, that would be great.

sorry i was wrong, the 6km is fixed, you can either select "6km" or "start power", the reason why we provide "start power" because some customers want to be governed by top speed only, not legal throttle start.

we can improve or open the 6km range start power setting but we don't think it can't help because 6km is such a short range from station to speed sensor to pick up speed value, if increase start power it may "overshot"

OK, i understand. But for my setup the 6kmh start should start with more power. It starts to turn very slowly first (0,5kmh?) then when it sees the speed sensor after a while it goes to about 2kmh, then when it sees the speedsensor again and after a while it goes to about 4kmh and after that it settles to 6kmh. This all takes about 10 seconds.

Sorry, same problem syncing with android 4.0.3.

hi just one more test

1. erase all record(s) by using pc suite, menu FILE -> ERASE DATA
2. power on speedict ebike and start logging 1 record with about 2 minutes

try again sync and let me know the result

I tried that first and that worked ok. The second trip was about 15 minutes and then it failed. I tried a few more times but it where all trips of 15-20 minutes and it did not work. When i erase, then let the bike run for a few seconds and then do a sync it does work OK.

please log single record first, i would like to know if it was caused by record length, so please erase all and record 1 log only, and make sure it is about 2 minutes long !

It works for me now almost perfect. 2 little things that can better.

I now use setting:

Legal 2
pas 5 magnet
now throttle range
Pas 60:1
Current throttle 18A gain 50

The 2 things that can better.

6km/h start is not use full. When i twist the throtlle, first 2 seconds noting happend. Then bike go real slow for 2 more second. The bike go little faster til 6km/h.

I think i have a solution when i look at the port status when i use only the twist throtlle i see first output 17% nothing happend then after 2 seconds output is 25% bike go verry slow. after 2 more seconds output is 32% bike go ~ 6km/h.

Maybe in the next version is it can work like this. Speedict dont look at speed sensor but output direct 32% or a value user can set. User can mach output to ~6km/h for his bike. I understand this wil only work at flat surface when there is a hill bike dont go 6km/h but that is not a problem in holland. And it is only for start power after 1 second the PAS sensor wil detect motion and throttle can be used to 100%.

Second little problem. When set the PAS ratio 60:1 motor is helping still a little bit. But we can not select 60:0 Maybe that can change with a new firmware. (I will try a value like 100:1 or 200:1 if that is possible maby that wil fix tis)

But i am even more happy with the speedict now, When fix the 6km start option it is worth dubble the money :)

and again sorry for my bad spell

yes we are not satisfy with the 6km start as well, so we will take some time to improve it with some settings, at the end it will cover flat or hill situation (like throttle mode with gain value ?)

on next firmware we can add zero output option for customer like you mainly use PAS as legal switch !
in the mean time you can set also the PAS magnet to e.g. 20 to reduce your power output because cadence rate can not set higher than 120 which may not enough for you.

me too :D

The new 6km/h setting with gain souds good.

The setting with 10 magnets i already try byt then the pas repons is much longer.
For now i use 1 magnet as value then the responce when i go paddeling is much quicker.

The motor is helping only a little bit when not using the throttle so i can wait for the firmware with the 60:0 possibility no problem.

The best setting for me at this moment is:

number magnets 1 (for faster responce, i have 5 magnets on my bike )
pas ratio 120:1

good try, you know our engineer call you "King of 6KM" :)

Some test of max. 40 seconds went OK, trip of 2 minutes failed again.

Good to hear you are going to improve the 6kmh start and add a 60:0 option. :D

ok that's look like long file sync error with some 4.0.3

Hi Danny!

I'm am in the process of putting together a system along the lines of the Commuter Booster using R/C motor, batteries and controller. Is it possible to use the Speedict ebike with an RC controller like the one below?

Turnigy dlux 100A SBEC Brushless Speed Controller w/Data Logging http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...Controller_w_Data_Logging_AUS_Warehouse_.html

And would I be able to use all of the ebike features like PAS and governor?

Cheers,
Ant.

for PAS and governor features, speedict ebike accept PAS sensor signal and Throttle DC signal in and out, so if your PAS sensor output pulse like signal and your RC speed controller accept DC throttle signal it is ok !

OK, no problem for me.

I was thinking about the 6kmh. Legal bikes that have that really give a short boost for 1 second or so, and then settle to 6kmh. It is used only to get you going from standstil so it should be a boost instead of soft-start how it is now. Maybe solve it with a new extra setting where you can enter the throttle % where the 6kmh has to start with.

Or you could make some 'smart' software that measures a few times during normal use how long it takes to settle to 6kmh and changes the way it applies throttle to get to 6kmh as soon as possible. :D

that's what we called "Gain" parameter !

But when i use 'soft start' instead of 6kmh it does not limit the throttle to 6kmh, it goes up to 25kmh, also with no PAS detected.
We need some 'gain' parameter under the 6kmh option then.

on road legal 2 mode, there is 2 start-up option.

1. 6km - with 6km start-up limitation, unless pedal action is detect
2. soft-start - without 6km start-up limitation, instead provide soft start option for start up, and top speed limited by either governor or speed throttle setting

Charge LiFePO4 battery via SmartSMS control parameters of the battery through the Speedict?

How????

The smart BMS has an I²C interface. I don't know if the speedict is Arduino based. For Arduino there is a library for communication with I²C bus devices. See this page for reference: http://www.arduino.cc/en/Reference/Wire

Also read this related topic:
http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=20971&start=60

btw. for those who are interested in USB communication with the sell phone, but have a phone that lacks of USB Host function (like almost all Android phones on the market) there is a USB Host board available:
http://www.lipoly.de/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=209708

There are same demo apps available to use the analog input of the arduino and show it an the android screen, using the USB Host board. there are also some demo apps to send data from android to arduino:
