That's cool AJ, I thought those were adjustment holes so you could tweak the angle of the rudder, or bring it out of the water if you wanted.
The street whip is coming along nicely. I don't know if I missed it or what, but did ThudSir put hall sensors in that motor for you already?
Burtie said:AJ,
I have NOT had very good results with those external hall mounts on the Turnigy 80-100 when trying to use large currents.
That method seems to work well on the smaller outrunners, but it would not work properly above about 3kw for me.
I suspect it is due to interference from the stator flux when running higher power.
Glueing the things in the stator slots (every 4th slot) seems to work a lot better.
I would be pleased for someone to prove me wrong about this, but it is just my experiece so-far :?

Are you going to use your CH 160 in the meantime, or is it still damaged, or are you going w/halls & Lyen from the get-go?AussieJester said:Gluing the halls in every 4th slot is how i will be going etard Burtie reports the external setup isn't the best
over 3kw![]()

deVries said:So, about how long before you do some test rides? Just need parts to quickly finish, or do you have to do a lot of testing or build-work to get on the road?![]()
