Hobbyking Shipping Issues

I won't bore you with yet another tale of woe about HobbyKing but just a little heads up for anyone selecting SCS Express International as the courier from the HobbyKing International warehouse.

You would be forgiven for thinking when you select the most expensive shipping option you would, you know, get your item shipped to you.

But you would be wrong. Instead if you select SCS Express your item will be shipped - to their European Hub.

You will then be sent a second bill so that they they can give it to another courier to actually deliver it to you.

In my case the second bill was nearly the same as I paid HK so you are in effect paying twice.

Also, not exactly speedy either, Shipped 30th May - Second Invoice 4th June paid immediately - Still not arrived 11 days and counting......

Kudos

I got my refund after following through with a PayPal claim. Throughout the process Hobbyking told me to cancel the claim or they couldn't refund...that's the reason I have the claim   !!

I just did another order with HK; 4 4s 5ah 20C hardcase Lipos and a few other bits. It arrived in a couple of days, no problem.

So they're back in my good books again!

Haha, I did also!!! 21 of 5A 4S Turnigy 20C hardcase! I also got $95 worth of wire and connectors on a separate order. I used the womans CC and made her an account so nothing pointed back to me for worry of bad blood. No doubt I've never had problems when ordering and waiting for it to show up. As soon as something out of the norm happens, they suck.

Just bought Lipos, guess its just a test shipment for now. Its an International shipment, guess it comes out of HongKong.
My login HobbyKing account says it was shipped today at 1:30pm my time there time who knows. Probably there time.
How long should it take. I ordered five Turnigy 5Ah 4S1P's.

Im in no rush honestly, just wondering is all. I can assume at best a few days or at a min. a week, at worst 3 weeks.
Be cool to track my shipment though, seems everyones asking this question!

I bought 12 pcs of batteries from hobbyking. I got 9pcs 6s 5000mah and 3pcs 3s 5000mah . 21s 3p configuration 88v max 15000mah total. I got my package after 2 weeks which is not bad. They are packed in individual box. I just got them couple weeks ago dec 23 2014. I ordered from their warehouse at west USA. The only problem is I have 1 cell in my 6s that has 2volts and the rest are 4v factory charge. But I got the badcell recovered by balance charging and discharging the 6s four times and the bad cell caught up with the same voltage in my 6s. So Im good just hoping that they will all stay the same voltage.

Just curious, can you order from the USA warehouses to be shipped to Canada? Seems to me it would be faster and cheaper shipping.

i am from Canada too, i ordered at west USA warehouse paid $40 purolator ground which is the basic shipping and it came in 2 weeks. heres the packaging looks like

So a buddy is trying to order 6 Turnigy 5000mAh 6S 20C Lipo Packs from HK and their system states, "unable to ship to this address". I just ordered 12 batteries a few months ago, and have a few other times with no issues. It complains that the size is above the maximum allowed, but when you read the chart it falls within the range of some options. We tried using my address but still the same issue.

Anyone else experiencing that? Solutions? Alternatives?

it looks like it's been going on for a while but this is new to me

My bad, just figured since that's the place where most of the users buy from it would be seen by the most relevant group.

Any Mod's that see this, please relocate to General Discussion or just delete and I'll re-post.

Thanks,

SZ

- I feel so horrible about this mistake that I'm going to ride my smoker this afternoonn and yell at any e-bikers I see. Hopefully that will make me feel better.

I ordered the Quanum Nova FPV GPS Waypoint QuadCopter from HK on the Jan/23rd and it STILL hasn't even been shipped yet.
Their excuses have been a bit dubious too.

As far as ordering lipo goes if I was HK I would simply make a rule where you have to buy at least $100 of other stuff for every lipo order, they would make a killing juicing all the ebikers for extra money.

I wonder how the Longshoreman labor issue is effecting HK shipping.

Just ignore KGR whenever he posts--it's a safe option. ;)

:) At least three moderators agree a battery shipping question belongs in the battery section.

Personally, I will no longer order more than 4 large packs per shipment. Nothing to do with HK, but with the postman giving me the stink eye. 4 packs seems to come packed well in a small box, more than that, usually not. Rattling around in a bigger box with popped padding.

Having the USA warehouse is a boon. I will never order batteries from the china warehouse again. Too much uncertainty they will get shipped. Other stuff is not usually a problem, unless it's out of stock, which can be the case despite the website saying it's in stock.

Thanks for the replies and thanks to the mods.

Strange HK, I guess they have enough money already and I'm glad I got my 12 nano's before they started acting strange! My buddy gave up and ordered an 18650 pre-made kit from somewhere else. Probably better for him just starting out and less soldering for me :)

I'll update if I notice any changes with HK in the future.

thanks again,

SZ

As I understand OP's in Hawaii, 'doubt much of an issue? More likely, air cargo delivery might explain the OP hang up?

My son used to be stationed in Hawaii with the Army and much stuff had to come by boat. I imagine that there are many restrictions on Lithium Batteries these days and many fewer ways to deliver them. Even the Europeans are mainly shipping them by boat. Longer but much safer. From the US warehouse in mainland shipping my 16000 Multisports arrived 5 days after the order was put in.

My batteries always came well marked, well packaged with air bubble balloons, whatever you call them. \
However mine were all hardcase 4S 5Ah batteries.
